We’ve already entered the New Year, and with its arrival, the promises and resolutions for more sports and movement traditionally began. The suggestion of the only bilingual digital guide under the hills is to skip the crowded gyms after the holidays and indulge in a sport that not only keeps us physically fit, but with its intensity it also helps to improve our concentration and reflexes.
Tennis is more popular in the warmer months when the outdoor facilities can be used, but under the hills there is always the option of playing indoors. Find out where:
Pironkovi Tennis Club
It is one of the newest and most promising clubs under the hills and extends over an area of 15 acres in the Proslav district. The base has nine courts. Five of them are red, three are hard and one is on artificial grass. In the winter there is a covered balloon over the three hard ones. A bathroom, toilets and changing rooms are available to the trainees.
Sila Sports Hall
The tennis court has a professional acrylic surface with ITF-3 on a 9-layer structured pad, protecting the joints and guaranteeing elasticity, friction and bounce of the ball, meeting the world standards for holding international competitions. The lighting is dimmable LED and provides from 850 to 1250 lux. During the day, the terrain is naturally lit and ventilated. Air conditioning provides 15 degrees in winter and 25 degrees in summer. The rent is BGN 40/hour.
Ataro Klima Tennis Hall
The facility was created in 2015. The hall has all the necessary conditions for those wishing to practice tennis on the court, as well as for holding competitions and includes
• Air-conditioned sports hall;
• Two courts;
• Changing rooms;
• Rest room;
• Spectator box;
• Study room;
• Smartcourt Playsight system;
• Tennis ball feeding machine.
Lokomotiv Hall
Lokomotiv Plovdiv Tennis Club is located on the east side of the Plovdiv Stadium. The club has: 13 tennis courts: 8 are open and with red clay surface, 3 are open and with hard surface. There is also a hall with 2 tennis courts and a grandstand with 750 seats. All courts are designed according to ITF requirements.
The courts behind the Plovdiv Stadium
They have recently had a new concessionaire and during the winter season a balloon has been placed over 3 courts which can be used for playing in unsuitable outside temperatures.
We also remind you that Total Sport is still the only place in Plovdiv where there are 2 squash courts for lovers of indoor sports.
