She will cross 2 continents and 3 epochs to give to the people of Plovdiv an evening devoted to a little unknown or forgotten by the modern Bulgarian chamber scene genre – art songs. Absent from the clichés of contemporary opera singing, Michiko's voice resonates brightly, genuinely and honestly, turned to the depths and wisdom of the ascetic Eastern soul.

Ink stains - Vesko Stein painting exhibition

Vesko Stein is partly a name, partly a creative nickname. Still, with a slight wink, a generous sense of irony and self-irony, this Asenovgrad artist is actually well-known to the Plovdiv audience but for the first time, he will present himself with a completely individual exhibition. You will see him in all his incarnations - as a master of the nostalgic urban landscape, as a kind of naïveté, taking the juicy Asenovgrad belles in unexpected poses, as an act painter whose models are naughty but anonymous under their carnival hats. He experiments with various pictorial and graphic techniques. What is unknown to some viewers are the drawings in the ancient East-style SHAN-SHUI - mountain-water. In them, he is serious, intrusive and laconic. These landscape paintings are almost black and white, monochrome, with sudden accents in bright red, violet and gold - the most royal colors. And, according to Shan-Shui's rules, there is no human presence, it is replaced by the sage’s sanctuary - the temple or the gate to it. Light as breath, exquisite and poetic, they carry the spirit of Asenovgrad, the Bulgarian Jerusalem, combining mountain and water under the wing of God.

Days of music in the Balabanov House

With the participation of Sergei Nakarakov (Israel) - trumpet, Arkady Shilkloper (Germany, Russia) - alpine horn and Sofia Soloists Chamber Ensemble with conductor Prof. Plamen Dzhurov.

Exhibition - painting, drawing, photography, collage

For the first time, L'Union de Paris Gallery – Plovdiv presents the artists Victoria Philipova, Ina Valentinova and Sonya Petrova. Their first joint exhibition "Extinct Kind" will be presented on 17th May.

The exhibition focuses on the "disappearance" process and asks what disappears today, what is completely gone, what is going to disappear, and why, what is it the reason? The paintings, collages, and photographs affect different views from the disappearance of animal and plant species through human identity to nationality, in order to make us aware of a reality in the center of which is mostly human activity.

The exhibition reflects the idea of salvation and destruction, as an individual and public act, for an environmentally friendly, dignified life.
