Art Positive - [DE]gradation

The exhibition is not just an exhibition, but a visual story about the time we live in - a time of instability, of rearranging the layers and searching for meaning among the debris of the old - a story about transition. 24 Plovdiv authors accept the challenge to explore the processes of transition: between accumulation and loss, between sustainable forms and social upheavals.

In “[DE]gradation”, the audience will discover that decay is not always the end. It is often a necessary stage that frees up space for new structures and unexpected ideas. The artists use a wide range of expressive means to provoke a dialogue about transformations - both those we see in society and the intimate, hidden processes in the human soul.

The official opening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, when visitors will be able to meet the authors in person and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the project.

The exhibition features: Adelina Zlatareva, Antonia Kostova, Vessela Statkova, Vesko Velev, Velina Hristova, Georgi Stanchev, Defne Guler, Eva Petkova, Evgeni Mladenov, Emil Mirazchiev, Zarina Marinova, Zdravka Rubin, Ivan Karev, Mia Novakova, Nadya Genova, Natasha Kupova, Osman Yuseinov, Petar Kochevski, Reinhard Manz, Sarkis Nersesyan, Sevdalina Kochevska, Sonya Mitova, Strahil Penev, Tsvetan Radenkov.

Plovdiv Ancient and Eternal

One of the most colorful and inspiring cultural events in Bulgaria – the International Dance Festival “Plovdiv – Ancient and Eternal” – will be held this year in the modern Kolodruma Hall, transforming it into a stage of rhythm, traditions and international art. The festival will bring together dance groups from different countries, which will present both authentic folklore and contemporary choreographies, and the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy competitive performances and free dance seminars with members of the international jury.

Portals/Exhibition by Iliana Tsvetkova

"Portals" is a series of paintings that explore the spaces of transition – between light and shadow, movement and stillness, outer and inner world.

Each work is a kind of entrance to a different state of consciousness – a quiet space in which the viewer can get lost for a moment and discover something personal.

The paintings invite the audience to go beyond the visible – through colors, textures and shapes that act as symbolic doors to the inner world.

Come to the opening on April 3 at the Absinthe House Bar and immerse yourself in the world of "Portals".

Iliana's works can be viewed from April 3 to May 2, every Friday and Saturday from 7:00 p.m. - Absinthe House Bar.

Starring Luiza Grigorova-Makariev, Hristo Padev and Boryana Bratoeva, this comedy, directed by Martin Karov, will draw you into the world of Desi – an energetic fan of the popular TV show “Get Rich” and her husband Oggy – a former young hope of the football club “Miner Pernik”. 5.04 PLOVDIV // Scalp Work with Jo and Vazkresen

Scalp Work is a stand-up comedy show in which the funniest stories come straight from the top of their heads. Jo – a country boy with a heavy presence and an active nightlife, and Vazkresen – an urban hipster and popular internet influencer – take to the stage. One lives more online, the other – more in brutal reality, but both hit the funny bone right in the gut.

The show pits village and city, social networks and family life, modern culture and Balkan directness. Vazkresen’s jokes go through scooters, adult films, without filter and without brakes. Jo, on the other hand, delves deep into marriage, the shameful things we all do every day.

“Scalp Work” is a dynamic duel between virtual reality and family reality, between hipster cynicism and rural candor. Expect personal stories, improvisations and a lot of self-irony. Because when the hair is gone, only the truth remains – and it is brutally funny.

A.MAIAH TTAKUN / ZAKUR [drone-blues, Basque Country] :: Live in Plovdiv / support: Dario Bulgario

Ritual drone-blues from the Basque Country with

A.MAIAH TTAKUN & ZAKUR @ Bee Bop Cafe (Plovdiv)

Special guest: Dario Bulgario

A.MAIAH TTAKUN is a duo formed around the repertoire of the album "Ehortzi ezazue ene bihotza / Erre ezazue ene gorpua" ("Bury my heart / Burn my body"), which Asier Maya recorded independently in late August and early September 2025 and officially released in early March this year. With lyrics taken from the words of American Indian chiefs as conveyed in the book "Bury my heart in the Undyed Nee" by Dee Brown, the album speaks of land, belonging, roots, community, environment and human dignity.

Asier Maiah sings in Basque and plays a stuffed electric guitar, and on this first Balkan tour he enriches the project with the processed bass clarinet of Andoni Penella and adds percussion to the overall drone sound. The album and the live experience are engaging ritual experiences that require active listening from the audience. Before A.Maiah Ttakun, bass clarinetist Andoni Penella will also present his solo project ZAKUR.

A rare opportunity to hear 2 in 1 what the current DIY scene in the Basque Country sounds like!

With bass clarinet (+ clarinet and modular synthesizers) guests will be welcomed on Plovdiv territory with a hypnotic post-ambient/free-improv/trip-hop performance of the project of the multidisciplinary artist (and multi-instrumentalist) Dario Tabakov Dario Bulgario.
