Eldorado TV

Shapeshifters, 41°, sweat, and hyperventilation. High-tech meltdown. An impossible love-affair. Uptempo beats, drums, and hypnotizing melodies. A catastrophic event. And a live music soundtrack.

"TV Eldorado, or Clarinet Ivan and the Weddingband" is a 2019 film made by Jacobs&Leinonen. The story, set in Bulgaria, revolves around a group of strangers who sign up for a mission in search of the lost Thracian gold.
Soon after the adventure kick-starts the unexpected happens.

"TV Eldorado, or Clarinet Ivan and the Weddingband" is a movie based on local myths, facts, and imagination. A picture show about friendship and confusion, quoting Socrates, Cocteau, Schopenhauer and many other uncles.
TV Eldorado, starring Chevalier Louis de Jaucourt, Sancho Pancho and a Guru hooked on magical rituals, unwillingly exploring parallel universes. Will we ever see these cosmic-dancers again?

“The story is not at all ‘true’ and everything in it is, in fact, a complete and utter lie.”

Poetics of the Image

The National Autumn Exhibitions will open this Sunday in the exhibition spaces of Balabanov House, Hindliyan House and Mexican Art House in Ancient Plovdiv. They are one of the first events of the Autumn Salon of the Arts in Plovdiv, part of the cultural calendar of the city - a forum for contemporary Bulgarian art, providing an opportunity for artistic creative expression outside the gallery or museum spaces, where the audience usually meets with visual art. The specifics of the event are determined by the peculiarities of the houses in Old Plovdiv as well as by the format of presentation of the authors: in the overall framework of a complete curatorial project, ten solo exhibitions are shown simultaneously, making the National Autumn Exhibitions Plovdiv an unforgettable art forum in Bulgaria.

This year's exhibitions will be held under the title Poetics of the Image. This problematic focus is the widest possible creative platform associated with the ability to produce artistic meanings. This perspective concerns the author's intentions, expressive means, and media aimed at building the complex of imaginative wholeness. But the poetry of the image also affects the observers - it has long been the result of the achievements of the viewers, who have seen what they saw on the horizon of their expectations and understanding. In this sense, the poetics of the image are contained in the communication between the creators and the users of the images: "how it is made" speaks directly with "how it is understood".

Passions Exhibition by Vezhdi Rashidov

From September 5 to October 15, 2019, the City Art Gallery - Plovdiv will show the Passion exhibition, presenting Vezhdи Rashidov as a creator, but also as a collector. On the first floor, connoisseurs will see Western European paintings from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries - part of the large personal collection that the artist collects with almost the same passion with which he creates his own works. His paintings, sculptures, and watercolors will be arranged on the second floor of the gallery.

If the qualities of his rich creativity and his international reputation were well known, then the addiction to collecting works of art until recently remained hidden to the general public. The paintings are by артистс from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, and Germany. For years, the works were searched, bought, restored until the time to meet with Bulgarian art admirers.
