Most often we visualize the City under the hills colorful and full of life. We all have footage of popular locations and are overwhelmed by the landscapes revealed by NebetTepe and the cobblestone streets of the Old Town and Kapana.
The young photographer, Ilko Randzhev, presents it a little differently. Armed with his camera he bravely enters the harsh reality and presents raw and maximally true images in which the main actors are ordinary faces and buildings. They don’t pose, aren’t specially set or with excessively enhanced colors but are absolutely authentic.
Look at the other face of Plovdiv and discover its genuine magic, because behind every corner are hidden all sorts of secrets that, although not always glamorous and universally beautiful, are no less powerful.
