Lost in Plovdiv

This year, in the holiday ranking of Forbes magazine dedicated to destinations suitable for celebrating Christmas and New Year, Plovdiv takes the prestigious third place.

A study by experts from the European Best Destinations tourist organization defines it as the "European wine capital". Specialists surveyed dozens of traveler groups, who highlighted their favorite locations for relaxation and travel - ranging from luxurious and sunny resorts to refined destinations for cultural tourism.

In its article, Forbes writes:
"Plovdiv - the oldest living city in Europe, with its captivating blend of history and modernity, is a preferred tourist destination year-round. The ancient monuments and the Old Town, with its cobblestone streets and charming architecture, provide a romantic backdrop for New Year’s celebrations".

Located at its usual spot - the bridge structure above “Gladstone” Street, opposite the “Post” - it will be open every day from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM, for a full 12 days, right up until December 28 2024.

A Christmas photo corner with an authentic and restored 120-year-old sleigh, a Christmas grove with live trees, and hundreds of festive offerings from local culinary artisans, mulled wine, and delicious hot beverages will be available to visitors.

This year’s musical program is just as rich, offering a wide range of mood-setting melodies - from magical children’s choirs and Christmas classics to live performances by incredible musicians and DJ sets.
