It took a little more than 2 years to release the idea for a group of enthusiasts, whose goal is to create not just an alternative cultural space, but a whole new world, filled with a lot of humor.
Fantasy-NOT-Museum is located in the immediate vicinity of "The Buttons" and the square in front of Plovdiv Municipality, and it is a place that has no pretensions to being a museum institution, but tells the story of Plovdiv so sweetly that you can even taste its taste and aroma, hear its sounds, and feel its rhythm.
The space combines the work of over 30 contemporary artists who worked on the overall vision and individual “exhibits” - Ani Yordanova, Dimitar Petrov, Viktor Muhtarov, Petko Tanchev, Arsek & Erase, Robotev, Elektrick.me, Rezonator, Mitch Brezonek and many others. The wacky oasis is the result of years of “digging” by the Maina Town team and their community of artists, illustrators, architects and designers.
The exhibits are in the form of comics, sculptures, interactive installations, augmented reality, VR stories and music rooms. They will cheer you up, make you go crazy, make you laugh and why not make you dance.
Seven muses, comic book characters, colorful visual stories and a lot of humor take visitors to an alternative Plovdiv - from ancient legends to modern urban slang. "Fantasy" is an emotional journey and a living archive of the way Plovdiv residents remember, joke, create, tag along the Main Street, eat princesses or pies, shop at Mitko Chorapa or sign in the notebooks of Stefcho Autograph. It is no coincidence that the Plovdiv residents play a central role in the Non-Museum, because life under the hills is a little more like that - fun and slow, light and frivolous.
Opening hours are every day between 10 am and 10 pm, and the ticket price is as follows:
