This weekend a group of swing dancers presented their video I Charleston Plovdiv just days after CNN advertised the city under the hills with its article and video titled "10 reasons to visit Plovdiv"
I Charleston Plovdiv is the start of the project Love Swing Dance Festival (LSDF) - part of the official program of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019
The first edition of the Love Swing Dance Festival will be on 28-30 September 2018
Lindy Hop Bulgaria School of Swing Dance and Culture will organize the first international Swing Dance Festival in Plovdiv, which includes open outdoor lessons in swing dancing, specialized workshops with some of the most recognized swing teachers in the world, evening events with music from the twenties, as well as live shows of Czech musicians, dance competitions and performances by some of the best swing dancers, a fun-filled city tour with live music and dancing, and many other surprises. The festival will establish and develop the local swing dance school Lindy Hop Plovdiv and will popularize the scene of the swing events that are currently taking place in Plovdiv.
The organizers want their love for swing dance to turn Plovdiv into a European and international scene for the world swing community and culture. They believe that it is the people of Plovdiv who can find this love because Plovdiv is the home of jazz music in Bulgaria. Its inhabitants are warm, open, free, expressive, just like swing music and dance. Plovdiv is already an attractive force for culture at local, national and European level that can be united with the incredibly fast growing international swing culture and community, which Lindy Hop Bulgaria is now part of. Because "Love makes us be together" and that's the motto of the Love Swing Dance Festival.
The city of the hills can’t help but follow the global trends and thanks to the school of swing dance and culture Lindy Hop Bulgaria, Plovdiv is ready to be one of the most preferred swing destinations in Europe.
