At the start of the week, the Christmas tree lights in front of the Municipality were ceremoniously lit, and the city officially welcomed the holiday spirit. Every corner here tells its own story of coziness and tradition, inviting visitors to immerse themselves into the magic of the season.
This year, the decorations are even richer, and in addition to the well-known photo locations, several new spots have been added that you shouldn't miss if you want to shine with the most cheerful photos this year:
The Train in Front of the Christmas Tree
We guarantee that this will become the favorite spot for all young ones. We've already seen queues for photos in the evening hours, so prepare yourself for some real crowds during the weekends and the holidays.
The Photo "Frame" Next to the Municipality
If you can't manage to get on the Christmas express, take a few steps to the side and snap a photo among the gifts with the snowman in the background.
The Balloon Near the "Together" Sign and Milyo’s Monument
The Kamenițsa Stairs, which we’ve often compared to the Spanish Steps in Rome, are undeniably a magnet for all residents and visitors of the city under the hills. The colorful "Together" sign and the statue of one of Plovdiv’s most famous jesters - Milyo, are already well-featured in social media photos, but during the winter season, you can diversify your composition with an eye-catching purple balloon that will transport you to the magical world of Christmas.
The Star Near the Roman Stadium
This additional element of the city's central decoration complements the familiar sleigh and reindeer ensemble, known to the residents of Plovdiv for years. It turns out to be an especially photogenic place, particularly for night shots.
The Christmas Cottage Near the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB)
Near the end of the Main Street, a small Christmas cottage has appeared in front of the BNB. It immediately became a hotspot for photos and selfies, as if directly transporting us into a world of fairy tales and wonders.
The pedestrian bridge also lit up festively a few weeks ago, and as always, the Kapana district glows and attracts photography enthusiasts year after year.
What other new additions have been made to Plovdiv’s festive decorations? Have you discovered any other elements that enhance the city’s holiday charm?
