The first full work week since the beginning of 2023 is high time to start fulfilling our goals and stop putting off our tasks for tomorrow. And since working out is a good idea not only when we want to lose those pesky pounds, but is also an excellent way to get rid of stress and tension - today we offer 3 physical activities to try. We've already made a list of the best gyms under the hills, so we bring to your attention a few alternatives:
Reformer Pilates
The Pilates Reformer is a specialized piece of equipment invented by Joseph Pilates and is a bed-like frame with a sliding platform and springs of varying resistance. Training with Reformer is more intense, dynamic and effective. These workouts are suitable for anyone who needs more movement and flexibility in their daily life, wants to move in a balanced, free and light way, as well as for rehabilitation after injuries and immobilization.
If you are a beginner in the field of Pilates and sports in general and don’t know where and how to start, if you are worried that the training will aggravate pains and old injuries, our suggestion is to try the equipment at Victorious Pilates. They will help you improve your posture and therefore your quality of life, regardless of your age and fitness level.
Squash
Squash was born in English prisons at the end of the 19th century. While wondering how to condense their time, the criminals imprisoned there began to hit a rag ball against the walls with wooden rackets and this became their favorite pastime.
This is one of the most physically exhausting, but at the same time mentally recharging sports. Although somewhat similar to tennis and badminton, squash is much more exhausting. An unprepared and untrained person will be completely exhausted after only 15 minutes of playing. Experts claim that this is the second sport after professional boxing, in which the most weight is lost during the game (up to 2 kg). In Plovdiv, the only place where you can practice squash is in Total Sport.
Swing dance
They are lively and social. You study them in the training room but practice them on the dance floor. You dance in pairs to swing jazz, a style of music designed to lift the mood and encourage listeners to move. Swing dance dates from the 20s, and in the 30s and 40s it culminated in the well-known "swing fever".
Nowadays, people dance swing at parties and festivals all over the world. The huge international community welcomes new people all the time - whichever country you visit, you can discover and get to know the local enthusiasts.
One of the schools in Plovdiv that we recommend is Rhythm RACCOONS. They teach swing dance classes in Lindy Hop, Charleston and Solo Jazz styles, and organize parties, dance socials, vintage movie nights and other themed events.
Starting this week, a new group for beginners is also starting, accepting new people within 4 training sessions.
