A night full of so many events and loaded with so many expectations... This year we revealed to you where the most expensive set menu under the hills is and offered you to have fun in the Balkan style with one of the most awarded Serbian orchestras, but after the fun we undoubtedly raise the question of how to get home!?
This is a situation that we face every year during the holidays and we undoubtedly come across irregular public transport schedules and busy signals on all taxi companies. The hours between 6 pm and 9 pm and from 1 am to 3-4 am are one of the busiest of the year, and there aren’t many options in Plovdiv...
Surely the easiest and most pleasant thing for everyone would be to use their own car. However, this necessarily means that there must be at least one sober person in the company and of course, you should be careful where you park. In unfamiliar places, definitely avoid the balconies, from where, despite all prohibitions over the years, firecrackers and fireworks fly constantly. Of course, apart from abstaining from alcohol, you can also use the drink and drive service to get home, and you will most likely be charged twice because of the holiday. A number of telephone numbers appear on the Internet when searching, and again here it is a matter of contacting them and finding someone free for the time you need.
The dilemma of public transport is almost non-existent as an option under the hills. Unfortunately, the buses here stop quite early, and so far no one has provided round-the-clock courses during the holiday evening. They also start work sometime after 06:00 and are with a reduced schedule.
Taxis are an option as long as you manage to get one off the street, as at some point the offices just refuse and don't even answer requests. This is not something new for the people of Plovdiv and it happens often, especially on rainy and cold days during peak hours. Billing may also be different.
Of course, the healthiest thing after a hearty festive meal, and relatively easy to do, is walking. More than once we have shared our reasons why we think Plovdiv is extremely easy to get around on foot, so if your goal is not the outer districts - just walk, especially if the weather is favorable. Here, too, our warning to beware of any pyrotechnics applies, as no one is paying attention.
And for the brave - we also suggest a bicycle or a scooter, again with a promise from the forecasts for positive temperatures.
But whatever you choose, our advice is to have fun and make memories with your loved ones first!
