In previous articles we have mainly told you about the central pubs and their importance in the past, but today we are returning to a place that operated until relatively recently and, despite being a neighborhood pub, was known throughout Plovdiv.
Trabanta was located on Sergey Rumyantsev Street. This industrial urban area, which borders the railway lines, is located to the west and south of the Central Station and we have a separate article about it, with some rather interesting shots, as if frozen in time. The cult establishment was known throughout the city for its talisman placed on the roof – an old Trabanta, on which a company was repairing a guitar. In the early years, even its headlights glowed in the dark. Its entrance was covered with camouflage netting, and a yellow hipster sign was proudly painted next to it. It was one of those places for rock fans that you either like from the first visit and keep coming back for more, or you realize that it is not your thing and look for other alternatives.
Until 2019, the owner was Savata, and fans nostalgically remember the wonderful evenings spent there with lots of rock and roll, sweet stories, kachamak and bumbar. The clientele has always been of very different ages and livelihoods, but the love of rock has invariably brought them together.
In the summer of 2008, the pub suffered a serious fire and the very next day its most loyal visitors poured in to help with whatever they could to restore it. Half of it was burned to the ground, and the fire also consumed the meat truck that landed on the roof. However, this did not stop the enthusiasm of the fans and the pub operated until it was sold 7 years ago.

Unfortunately, the new owner decided to turn it into a residential building and did not continue the development of the idea for one of the most iconic pubs in recent history under the hills
